As a member of the IAAO 2009 Tax Collection Council, I want to invite all TCTECH members to consider joining IAAO and participating in this Council.  As many of you know, IAAO is a well-established international assessors association and because they have members with dual roles as assessor and collector, this new Council was created. 

We are currently discussing the needs of those who collect revenues for government entities and how to share this information on an international level.  We have gathered membership information from state associations, and we plan to send out a survey that will assist us in further development of the Council.  The survey should help provide educational material and information about educational seminars that would benefit the collection field.  The Council is very excited about this opportunity, and we look forward to hearing from those interested.  

The 76th Annual International Conference is in Lake Buena Vista, FL, at the Walt Disney Dolphin Hotel August 29 - September 1, 2010.  I have attended many IAAO conferences, and they offer tremendous educational opportunities as well as networking with professionals in the tax areas.
