Whitfield County voters first elected Danny W. Sane as Tax Commissioner in 1993. He is currently serving his fourth consecutive four-year term. Mr. Sane is a lifetime resident of Whitfield County where he and his wife of six years, Pamela, continue to reside. He is a graduate and alumni of Leadership Dalton/Whitfield. He plans to be an active participant in Republican politics for many years.

In his years of service, Mr. Sane has had many opportunities to serve including: 

• Executive Board of Georgia Association of Tax Officials 

• Board of Directors for Dalton Kiwanis Club. 

• District One Leader for four years in Whitfield County 

• Task Force Member for the Department of Revenue Tag/Title Modernization 

• Board of Directors for Big Brothers/Big Sisters 

• Past President of TCTech 

• Authored several legislative bills to reduce local tax payments for senior citizens 

• Education Chair for Georgia Association of Tax Officials

The administrative philosophy and focus on Leadership in Public Service is certainly exemplified through Danny’s desire to provide the citizens of Whitfield County with excellent customer service. Danny has served Whitfield County citizens with distinction, demonstrating the effective leadership spoken of with integrity and ethical standards. The Tax Commissioner’s office is a progressive business operation focusing on quality service delivery to  the Whitfield County community.
